Why use HTML?

Hyper Text Markup Language or HTML as it is popularly called in the world of programming is one of the easiest to learn, yet powerful designing tool through which programmers/designers are creating web pages, websites, designer templates, etc. HTML has undergone continuous revision and does provide some really cool features. HTML also has its limitations like it is not an object oriented language and hence actual functional tasks cannot be done. It is only used for designing front end. Let us first find out where did HTML come from?

The first version of HTML was HTML 1.0. It had its flaws as website was not a popular thing and hence it was very limited to doing basic designs. With the advent of internet and other subsequent programming languages over the past 20 years, HTML has also improved to HTML 5.0 and has much better features to design almost any kind of framework, which can be run on multiple software.

After HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0, the smarter web developers innovated newer and better versions of websites. Eventually XHTML 2 was just not going anywhere and no major updates were reported. Around this time some programmers, browser experts and tech experts decided to upgrade the Hyper text language. The agency was formed as WHATWG (Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group) and changed HTML’s specifications. Eventually XHTML 2 was discontinued and HTML was given priority as it was the future for web designing.

HTML 5 was upgraded keeping in mind the future upgrades and adaptations. some of the best reasons to use HTML are its accessibility features. As it is easily accessible and runs on any platform easily. It also supports Video and Audio and using flash player, these can be accessed using HTML 5 <video> an <audio> tags. Its document tag also helps its backward browser compatibility. The codes are more clearer and readable. The code writing style are more descriptive and clear and allows to easily separate from style and content. It also stores information in the form of cookies between browsers and client side database. Some other features like better browser interactions, browser supportive, mobile friendly, etc made it the most widely used web language.
